Atlanta Georgia Home Staging : February 2007

Okay, I admit it.  I HAVE FAVORITES.  Don't get me wrong, I put forth the same level of commitment on each and every home I stage.  However, this is one that left a mark.

Perhaps it's the warm colors and/or the more contemporary look I used.  To be honest, I'm not quite sure.  What I do know is this... it remains one of my favorite homes I've staged.

Imagine you're the homeowner and you've just found the home of your dreams.  However, in order to make the purchase, you must first sell the home you're currently in.  Not too hard to imagine, I'm sure. 

Reality slips in when you realize that the home you currently live in, the starter home you purchased only 2 years early will now become the 3rd house in a row, on the market.  And, your home has 1/2 less bath than the others and you're planning on asking more for yours.

True story!  The homeowner recognized the challenge and faced it head on by calling a stager (me) to help get the home sold.  Her first comment when I entered the home was; how many people do you know that place their couch in front of their fireplace?  Here's precisely what she was referring to:

While I understood why she had placed it there, I also knew that it had to be rearranged to showcase the feature the living room had to offer.  Here are the results:

Using the homeowners furniture and a few added accessories from my inventory, the living room went thru quite the transformation.  The results:  Home Sold in Exactly 3 Weeks! 

Realtors and Homeowners - Stagers can make it happen.  They understand how to create balance in a room, showcase the features the home has to offer, and create a flow that's pleasing to the eye.  If the home is priced right from the onset, a stager can help you avoid a price reduction.  Staging works!

I love what I do!  Why? 

• It's rewarding!  I get to witness first hand the results staging a home can provide.
• I get to help others; the realtor, the homeowner, the investor, the builder.
• I'm a creative person by nature and with staging, I'm given free rein to create a space that is warm and inviting.

Here's a great example:  This home was on the market for over 1 year without a single offer.  The owner had the home painted and had me staged the "key" rooms (LR, Kitchen, DR, Master, Baths).  He also raised his asking price by $10K.

The results:  The home sold in 4 weeks and the homeowner came $200.00 shy of his new asking price.

Hi. I found AR when looking for articles specifically on staging and more specifically, articles that could benefit my realtors within Atlanta.
