How 15 Minutes Each Morning Can Help Sell Your Home

If your home is currently on the market, then you likely understand the importance of having a home that is show-ready.  Fortunately, there are simple and quick solutions that YOU, as a homeowner, can do each morning that will ensure you leave the buyers with a great first-impression of your home.

 

Let's begin with a list of the items you'll need:

  • Plastic bins (I recommend 3 or 4)
  • Pre-moistened wipes (polish and glass cleaner)
  • Laundry basket
Here's a check-off list that you can print and keep handy.  As you'll see, the list is sorted by room.  
      


Bedrooms:

  • Make beds 
  • Place clothes in laundry basket

Bathrooms:

  • Place items such as shampoo, conditioners, etc.. in plastic bins under your bathroom sink. 
  • Using pre-moistened wipes do a quick wipe down in the sink(s) and faucet (these too can be placed under the sink)
  • Hang towels
  • Ensure toilet seat lids are down.

 

Living Areas (Living Room or Family Room):

  • For homeowners with children, collect any toys and place in a wicker basket or toy box
  • Clear coffee table
  • Use pre-moistened furniture wipes - they're easy and convenient to use.  A quick wipe down of your accent tables (i.e., coffee and end tables) will make them look beautiful.

Kitchens:

  • Empty sink of any dishes
  • Clear off counter-tops
  • Place liquid soap, scrubber, etc... in plastic bin and place underneath sink
  • Kitchen table - Ensure the only item left is the centerpiece and wipe table down

Home Stagers - Want Your Before & After Pictures On the First Page of Google?

 

When I first created the group Staging Before & After Pictures, I knew it would be a perfect opportunity for home stagers to show-case their work within Active Rain.  What I didn't realize is that it would sky rocket their before & after pictures on the first page of Google.

Here's what I mean:

Home Stagers in Atlanta Unite

As I walked into IKEA on Monday morning, I drew in a deep breath in anticipation of the home staging roundtables that were to be held that day for the home stagers throughout Atlanta. As a co-host, having partnered once again with Karen Dembsky with Peachtree Home Staging, to host this event, I couldn't help but think:

  • Would all that registered attend?
  • Would the level of participation be high or low?
  • Would they offer up ideas on how we, as a community of professional home stagers, can help endorse and promote the industry as a whole?
The answers to those questions came throughout the day.
  • Between the two separate roundtables, we had 50+ stagers attend
  • The participation was high (extremely high)
  • Ideas on how to promote and endorse what we do as professional home stagers came freely
What was also extremely evident is that there's a passion to help.  All of the attendees understood the value in sharing ideas and thoughts on how to promote home staging industry and made great recommendations on how to move our industry forward.  

To the 50+ Home Stagers who attended:  THANK YOU!  Your attendance spoke volumes to your commitment to our industry.

Atlanta Home Staging Meeting - RESA/SIF Roundtable

 

First and foremost, a special thanks to all the Home Stagers in and around Atlanta for having registered to attend our RESA/SIF roundtables.  Having spoken to Karen Dembsky (my co-host for this spectacular event) this morning, I can tell you that we're both extremely impressed and pleased with the amount of stagers that have registered.
