Why this Atlanta Home Stager Loves a Good Picnik

I had a spare moment (rare these days but... I'm not complaining), to create this collage using Picnik. Last week, my pro account was up for renewal. For me, it was a no-brainer. For $24.95 a year, I have access to more options than the free account provides. Are the options worth it? I think so.

So.... why do I love Picnik? As a home stager in Atlanta, I take hundreds of pictures. While I'd like to think that every single picture I take is picture-perfect, the truth of the matter is that I need to edit. Sometimes, it's adjusting the exposure. Other times, it's sharpening. Regardless, the process of editing photos is made super easy in Picnik. That's reason #1. Reasons 2 - #100, I won't list (smile). However, I did include (at the bottom of this post) a couple of the "how-to's" I created.

Here's the collage I created this morning, which literally took me 2 minutes to create.

An Easy Way to Brand Yourself - Watermark your Photos Using Picnik

How important is branding? Extremely. And as a professional home stager in Atlanta, I understood, early on, how important it would be to ensure that anyone looking at my photos of my home stagings knew it was me, my company, that created the transformation. I also learned the hard way that when one fails to watermark, it can lead to bad things. They were snatched up and used as if they were the ones who created it. Shame on them and shame on me for not having "branded/watermarked" my photos. But I digress. 

This blog post will walk you through the steps using Picnik to watermark your photos. As you'll see, it's really easy.

First things first - log into your Picnik account. If you don't have one yet, go ahead and sign-up. It's FREE. They also offer a premium subscription at $24.95/yr. Well worth every penny.

Next, upload a photo either from your computer or from your library. Once you have the photo loaded, follow these steps as outlined below.

How to Embed an Email Address into Your Blog Post

NOTE: While the directions contained within this post are accurate, I've since learned that this process will likely increase the amount of spam. For a better process, please visit Matt's blog.

This is SUPER easy and SUPER convenient for people to send an email directly from your blog post.

Here's an example. Let's say I was writing a blog post about my Atlanta home staging company, Georgia Interior Solutions, LLC. The blog post may look something like this:

Georgia Interior Solutions, Atlanta's premier home staging provider, understands what it takes to help sell a home quickly. With years of experience and a massive inventory from which to pull from, Kathy is your girl (I could have said Queen, but... you get my drift). To schedule an appointment email Kathy at Kathy@homestagingatlanta.com.

Or, that last sentence could read: To schedule an appointment, email Kathy. Or, Send Kathy an email.

As you'll see, when you click on any of the above links, you're email will open and my (Kathy's) email address will already be populated.

Here's how it's done:

1.  Create the post and underline any word(s) that you would like the email link to be tied to.

2.  Click on the anchor button.  Looks like this: Anchor text link

 

3.  When you click on the anchor button, the "insert/edit link" box will open. Where you would normally enter a URL, you would now type: mailto: (that's mail to: without a space between mail and to. Don't forget the colon. Right after the colon, enter your email address. For example: mailto:kathy@homestagingatlanta.com. Here's what it looks like:

4. Press insert.

5. Finish and post your blog.
