Looking for unique and interesting way to market your staging services?
Okay, raise of hands, please for those who have created a portfolio of before and after pictures of the homes they've staged. It's likely that you've taken this to real estate offices and to homeowners when you visit to explain your services. I know I do. And, when I'm touring the home to take my before pictures, I'll leave the album with them to view on their own.
For those with storage units, here's a twist - Create a second album and leave this with the front office. Why? Because most homeowners understand the importance of reducing the amount of clutter or non-essential items in their home as they prepare their home for the market. And it's likely that they'll get a storage unit to house their belongings until the home sells. In fact, there's a family two doors down from my unit who rented for that very reason.
After a lengthy conversation, it dawned on me that others renters are likely there for the same reason. So.... off I went to buy a 2nd album, printed out the pictures and now have the album at the front office. The women who works there called me the other day and said, you wouldn't believe how often I show this album. It's only been a week so.... I'll keep you posted.

Kathy,
I love this idea! I have connections with a local storage lot and this never occurred to me. I refer clients to them and get back a referral fee. I have left flyers and business cards, but now I'm going to create a new album.
Thanks for sharing!
Kathy,
Love this idea. This is really thinking outside of the box and I am sure didn't cost too much to put together.

Kathy...
That's such a great idea! I'm going to talk to the manager tomorrow!
Thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear that others will be using this as well.
Kathy
OOOh Kathy - not only pretty, but smart as well! Great idea.
Denise
Very smart. I have many portfolio albums with 4 x 6's in them, but I blew up my best shots to 8 x 10's and those are in a special folder. The larger pics seem more dramatic.
Good stuff Phyllis Pafumi
Glad you guys can use this idea!!
Kathy
Fantastic idea, Kathy! Keep us updated on the results. Love it....advertising at such little cost. It's great that the manager is helpful as well.

Kathy,
What a wonderful idea! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
It's one of those out-of-the-box ideas. For whatever reason, they typically hit me when I'm engrossed in something else or when I'm driving.
Kathy
Kathy, Now THAT'S some 'out of the box' thinking! Great idea - thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Nora - I love Active Rain!!! I too have obtained several new ideas. So... I always do my best at sharing any and all ideas I can.
Val - Thanks!
Karen - At my specific storage unit, they open new accounts for the new renters. As they are conversing, if the customer brings up why they need the storage unit (which most do, by the way), then the girls at the counter and/or the manager will bring out the album. For your unit - how are new tenants checked in?
