How to arrange a living room when selling your home.
A common challenge for most sellers is understanding what actions to take in each of the rooms. Given that we live amongst our things, we end up being familiar and perhaps even comfortable with the current arrangement. However, there are some extremely easy and very effective changes that will work in almost every living room out there.
Here's a collage I created of an occupied home we had staged:

Visit our Atlanta Home Staging Information blog for the step-by-step process. These changes were done in less than a day and made a significant impact on how the buyers viewed the home.

Great illustration Kathy. I love the look of the big round clock over the fireplace. Nice staging. Thanks for sharing.
Staging is so much more than de-personalizing and de-cluttering. You have to have an eye for design, flow, and simply put what looks good together! As usual, a fabulous job!
We staged a home that the Realtor had attempted to stage, after watching too much HGTV. She had brought in lots of accessories, and "decorated". The home had not sold, so she called on my staging partner, after seeing some of our other staged homes. She queried what was different about what we did. She RECOGNIZED that it was different, but didn't know why...my staging partner said, "the difference is what we learned in training"...and left it at that.
Great post Kathy. I like your step by step illustration. It really demonstrates the process.
Kathy I love the before and after shots. I know I am sold! Anyone looking at this should see a hig difference!
Enjoyed seeing the progression of the room Kathy - great example!
Very nice illustration of the process, Kathy! My favorite part of employing a staging professional is that my clients are never offended at the suggested changes when they hear it coming from a staging expert! I'm not the "bad guy", their home looks beautiful, and it sells more quickly and for more money! Win, win, win!!
From drab to fab - I can just see how your last photo would make a much better impression online Kathy.
Taking the rug up certainly helps open the room up too. Nice job!
I love the illustration Kathy. I like it in three stages - it makes a great point. You did a fabulous job!
Great room Kathy! You even were able to leave the TV and it still looks great!
