Creative Staging Solution For A Small Space

Last week, I was called by a prospect to view a home that has been sitting vacant for a while.  One of the challenges I was faced with was to create a solution for the kitchen.

Here are the "before" pictures:

The challenge:  The space was too small for an island as it would have consumed a great deal of the kitchen.  The wall pictured above - well, it too was too small to accommodate a bistro set.

The solution:

Coffee for two in this newly created space!

The stand is something I had purchased to use in the living room.   However, all attempts to find a shelf, which would have worked equally as well, failed.  It's one of those weeks where when you need a particular item, the item can't be found anyway.  And when you don't need an item, you'll likely see hundreds of them.

As it turned out, this solution worked extremely well and the owner was completely thrilled with the results.

Georgia Interior Solutions is a full service home staging company in Atlanta, serving Cobb County, Marietta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Dallas, Kennesaw, Powder Springs.  You can view our web site at http://www.homestagingatlanta.com/

Great job!  You really did take an "uh... what's that?" space and made it a special little corner.  Thanks for sharing!

Kathy - looks great and I admire your ingenuity.  So true what you say about not finding what you need when you need it and then seeing that item over and over again when you don't.  Murphy's law!

Christina - Thanks!  I could have easily just placed a print/art of some kind.   But... this definitely shows the prospective buyers how to use the space.

Nalliah - You bet!

Stephanie - Thanks as that was precisely the look I was after!

Cheryl-Anne Thank you!!!

And to our one and only, Jackson West - Thanks for the link love!  I'm heading back over to your post to leave a response!

Kathy,

Absolutely amazing!  Love how you made it work and the furniture even packs some much needed 'wow' factor!

Thanks, Kimberly.  I love sharing examples of my work.

Val - Thank you!  That side of the kitchen did need a 'wow' factor.  I was so pleased that it came out so well given the fact that I couldn't find a shelf in all of Atlanta.

WOW!!  That is all I can say.  Where did you find those stools?

Thanks, Karen.  I got the stools at Ross.  They were on sale too for $27/ea.

Can't beat that price.

They were a great price!  I'm going to purchase the tall ones as well as they're easy to pack and store.

Kathy,

What a great, creative alternative to an island.  $27 for the stools is fantastic.  Is the framed item a chalkboard?  Love it!

Thanks, Betty for your kind words!

Ginger - Thanks.  And yes; it's a framed chalkboard.  It was a Marshall's purchase made last year.  I was half tempted to write "Coffee for Two"  but... it seemed a bit obvious with the coffee cups.

Great idea - made it useful for a buyer to see how they can use it!  Love Ross too - hit or miss, but when they have good stuff, you can find some great deals.

It's called thinking out of the box and your solution probably worked and gave more of a  WOW factor than the shelf would have if you found one. Great job!!
