I'm often asked by home sellers whether or not to stage the bonus room. As is often the case, the rooms are either on the 2nd floor or in a finished basement and typically have odd layouts and sometimes odd ceiling heights as well.
In staging homes, the objective is to allow prospective buyers to envision living in the home as well as to give them ideas on how they can utilize the space. Given the challenge listed above on bonus rooms, I will always suggest having the bonus room staged.
Here are two sets of "before" and "after" pictures of a bonus room just recently staged.
The additional cost to stage the bonus room is, on average a couple of hundred dollars. I'd say it's worth it!

I've had big bonus rooms in the last couple of homes that I've lived in...and they can be very challenging for homeowners to figure out how to use the space. Therefore, I believe it's important to show how the space could be used...it could be an office, tv area, play room, guest bedroom, sewing center, music center, or....all of the above!

Rooms That Work
Your home, only better.
And if it is a bonus room you can make it anything you want it to be. A library, craft room, art studio, exercise room, games room, music room. Any more?

Thanks everyone for your comments.
As for the chairs - it's the first time I ever used them. I hesitated at first with the selection but... as it turns out, they really worked well in this space.

Kathy A - In this case, I provided the seller with two bid options; one for the key rooms another for key rooms & bonus room. I too find that these spaces are difficult to envision in terms of how the prospective buyer will use the space. As a result, I provide them with a solution with it staged.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
