A Winning Combination: A Stager & A Professional Photographer

Given the importance of the listing photos on MLS and the impact staging a home can have, I can't think of a better combination.

Two weeks ago, while on my way to see a prospect, I had received a call from a professional photographer who had found my web site on the internet.   Her timing couldn't have been more perfect.  For at least a couple of months, I had been meaning to make the time to search for a photographer within the Atlanta area.

While I pride myself on my "after" pictures there is absolutely no comparison.  My hat goes off to the professionals in this trade.

Here's a "before" picture (and oddly enough, this is the home I was on my way to see when the photographer called me):

If you are going to spend the money for someone to "stage" your property, you'd be crazy not to enlist the services of a professional photographer.  They understand the nuances of lighting, etc. to help you look your best.  They can do the same for your property.

Wow - hard to believe what a difference the photographer makes too - never thought of that myself (mostly work with buyers myself) thanks

It is amazing what staging and a professional photographer can do.  I used a professional photography in the past when I practiced real estate in another state.  Have been thinking about it again.

I absolutely agree with Steven....Staging is a great investment ESPECIALLY in this market. I shoot amateur photography and i have invested in professional equipment. I always take great photos of my clients homes. It very important.

Steven - I agree.

Cyndee - You're right.  It makes a big difference.

Armando - Thanks for posting.

Carolyn - It's such a winning combination!

Dave - You're 100% correct.  Given the amount of homes on the market, it's especially important to ensure it shows well!  Staging can and does make an incredible difference.

As for photography - I'd love to invest in the equipment, take classes, etc...  I just need to make the time!

Kathy - The home looks beautiful.  I think your pictures are always fantastic!!!

Hey Kathy,  While you have an excellent eye and always take excellent photos , the professional shots are superb.  Well worth the investment!

I've considered researching classes.  While I have the time, I don't have the funds to support it...one of these days! ;)  (I could start by really learning how to use that beast of a camera, though!)

Have a great weekend!

Kathy: Another great blog and great demonstration that you are a very talented stager and saavy businesswoman. How much did the photog cost?
Posted by Michelle Minch Home Staging Los Angeles & Pasadena, CA (Moving Mountains Design Home Staging, Pasadena, CA) almost 5 years ago

Thanks, Michelle.

The cost was $80.00 and includes 20-60 pictures, a web site for the realtor and a virtual tour.  It also includes a "printable" flyer for the agent to use in their marketing collateral.

I'm so thrilled with the results.  Also - I have 5 coupons for a complete package for agents who use my service.  FYI - I'm teaming with this photographer to promote both of our services.   It just makes for a winning combination!

Kathy, excellent job both on the staging AND on teaming with obviously a superb photographer. That after shot looks magazine worthy, and I think you got a terrific bargain on the price of his? her? services.  You will both prosper from the teamwork, I'm sure.  Thanks for sharing.

Kathy, you have inspired me to start the search for a photographer to help us in our staging business.  The difference in the pictures is remarkable - although the first one is also pretty good.  Thanks for the inspiration.  Betty

Thanks for sharing.

Kathy before I scrolled down to the next photo I thought that picture looked great - but then wow, what a difference lighting, angle etc. really was the difference between night and day.  Stagers also make the job of professional photogs easier too! another winning team - thanks for sharing this post and the great shots.

Patricia - I couldn't be more pleased with this photographer.  She is superb!  And when she makes a commitment, she sticks with it.

Betty - I'm glad to hear it has inspired you. Thank you!

Christine - Thank you!

Karen - I too love the lighting, the angle, well.... everything really.  And every shot was like this.  I'm so glad she found me!  I feel very fortunate.  Thanks

All that for 80 bucks!!!???  On a go-forward basis, how are you going to price it out?  As a pass-through expense to the seller, or embedded in the staging fee?  I think you're really onto something here!
Posted by Susan Smith (Rooms That Work LLC) almost 5 years ago

Susan - I've yet to finalized exactly what I'll do moving forward.  I do know this, I will certainly be using this service on more of the homes I've staged.  Thanks!  Oh, I forgot to add that it includes 4 panoramic views.

As mentioned, I have 5 FREE coupons for Realtors interested in using this service.

Interesting analogy...a RES uses a stager to get quality and be efficient with their time.  A stager uses a professional photographer to get quality and be efficient with their time.  Hmmmm...you're smart!

Looks terrific, Kathy! It's amazing the difference between our photos and a professional photographer's photos.
