It's happened to me. Has it happened to you? You enter a home and you have absolutely no clue as to what the purpose of the room is? Unfortunately, it happens too often, especially if the home is vacant. Tomorrow I'll be home staging a home in Grant Park in Atlanta, Georgia that had this exact dilemma. I arrived, entered the home and just stood in middle of the room scratching my head (okay, not really "scratching my head" but, you get the point). I was told it was the living room. It sure didn't look like a living room. However, I can assure you that after tomorrow you'll know exactly what room it is. Stay tuned for the pictures of this home staging project as I'll be posting them as soon as I get back. In the meantime, here are tips on "how to avoid leaving the buyer guessing." Remember - leaving the buyer guessing is never a good idea. With proper planning, using the above home staging tips, you'll be on your way to setting definition to that confusing room and eliminate the guessing game.Tips from Atlanta Home Stager, Kathy Nielsen.

Great tips, Kathy. I especially like Tip #3: A Seller knows how they used the room, but a Buyer might not have the foggiest idea - can't wait to see you pix!
Great Points Kathy. I agree, Buyers want to fall in love with the house, not play a guessing game.
Can't wait to see the pictures :.)

Kathy....good tips and how the seller "used" it may not be what will impress buyers. Looking forward to the pictures!!
Kathy, as always great post...and I have run into rooms that I just stood there and wondered "what is this, exactly"
Hi Kathy, I'm also looking forward to seeing your photos! One questions I think most buyers want answered is "where to I put the t.v."? Although we usually avoid using faux t.v.s unless the client requests it, we do make it clear where the t.v. would go by using consoles and artwork the approximate size a t.v. to give the idea.
Kathy! Great information! It can be hard when a house is empty to get a sense of what the room can be used for. Thanks! Have a nice night.
Excellent tips for sellers Kathy! Looking forward to the photos.
