Up Close And Personal with Home Staging Atlanta
One of the greatest compliments we receive at Home Staging Atlanta - Georgia Interior Solutions is in regards to our photos. It pleases me to no end as I spend an incredible amount of time at the end of the home staging project to capture as many photos as I can. When I return to the office, I'm as anxious to send them to the homeowner as they are to receive them.
And like many professional photographers (no, I'm not a professional photographer but do use similar practices), the photos will go thru some edits. If you're a professional home stager, I encourage you to take the time to make those edits. If you're confused or don't know where to begin, then absolutely invest in the webinar being provided by Jackson West. You can read his post here. Jackson has perfected the art of editing and provides great insight into what the process is about.
Here are two recent photos I captured from a home staging project in Grant Park yesterday.
I started taking "vignette" photos as a way to add some magazine-like qualities to my Atlanta Home Staging Portfolio. Yes, it adds more time at the end of the project. However, I think it's well worth the time.
So... give it a whirl. Snap a few close-ups. I promise you, you'll be glad you did.

Those are GREAT....what camera do you use??
The photographs are very good, and I agree that photos should sometimes be editted. Thanks for the link for the webinar.
I agree, Kathy. Those tighter shots are easy to forget to take, but well worth it to have in your portfolio to help communicate your staging story!
Kathy -- your photos are just "delicious!" Better than chocolate! I would love to learn how do shots like this. I will hop over to Jackson's blog for more info ....
Kathy, I usually forget to take these shots too. I take "inventory" shots but there aren't creative. I am signed up for Jackson's webinar in April. I'm having so much fun playing with the new camera. Great shots from you!!!
Kathy - So inspiring! I have a lot to learn about photography. I was on the fence about the webinar, but may take advantage of it!
Kathy, That's a wonderful idea and something I never think of doing....unless I'm pointing out an issue. Thank you for the tip and the pictures are lovely.
Those are beautiful Kathy. I really need to get a new camera and learn how to do this. It is just as important as the staging. Thanks for sharing.

Kathy - great reminder and I agree, your photos are beautiful. What kind of equiptment do you use?
Love those close-ups, but I really like that lamp... I want it!
Very nice. They do look like the work of a professional.
Thanks everyone for your very kind words.
I use a Nikon D90. I made that purchase about 2 years ago (prior to that, it was the Nikon D80 - the difference is that the 90 has video).
Chrissie - I agree. The camera is equally as important as the staging. And as mentioned in the post, the edits are critically important as well.
Maureen - your comment made me smile.

Kathy -- Whenever I look at your photos, I feel like I'm right there in the room -- they're that good! I took Jackson's webinar last month and found it to be extremely helpful. I'd recommend it to any Stager or Realtor who would like to improve their photography and editing skills.
Inspired, aspiring...thanks!
Just Beautiful Kathy!!!
Your vignettes really set a mood -- one that would put people in a buying mood. Great job!
Beautiful shots. I would definitely show that home if I had a qualified buyer!
