The answer is yes. Here's why. The challenge many homeowners experience is that not only are they emotionally attached to the home, they're attached to the items within the home. There's also a tendency to believe that the layout of the furniture, which fits their current lifestyle, is the perfect layout when selling. Nine times out of ten, it is not.
The value in a home staging consultation is that a professional home stager understands what buyers are looking for and understands how best to arrange the furniture to maximize the visual real estate. In addition, there's no emotional connection to ANY item in the home.
Here's a recent example of a home that received a verbal consultation from Atlanta's premier home staging provider. How long have we been saying this? For how long will we have to continue saying this? I know this sounds ridiculous, but some time back, I was thinking, "why do womens magazines continue to cover the same "hints and tips" over and over, year after year?" Lose weight! Clean your house in minutes! Protect your children! Then I realized there is a whole new crop of girls becoming women who start reading those magazines, every DAY...and there is a whole new crop of Realtors or homeowners who are reading AR or some other staging news for the FIRST TIME...today...keep educating, they will keep reading...
