Turning A Spare Bedroom Into An Office

I had the good fortune yesterday to work with a couple of great guys who literally gave me free rein to take their vacant investment property and turn it into a home.  The home is large with 6 bedrooms, 4 baths as well as a finished basement.

With so many bedrooms and with so many professionals now working out of their homes, I thought it best to show potential buyers, through home staging, how to use one of the bedrooms as an office.

Here's the "before" picture:

Now here's the "after" picture:

This home was professionally stagd in Sandy Springs, Georgia by Georgia Interior Solutions, LLC.  We've had the great pleasure of  helping many homeowners with getting their homes sold more quickly.

Very nice, Kathy!  I like that desk too, it looks like it's just the right size.  Will you share where you got it (or is it a rental)?

Karen - Thank you!!  The furniture was leased.

Cindy - You're SO Right!  I had explained that to the homeowners and they too agreed to have me transform it to a home office.  I'm so glad as it turned out really nice. Thanks for your comments.

Joan - Yes, I did the main level (which included, kitchen, kitchen eat-in, family room, formal LR, office and bathroom.  They loved the results.

Kathy - the size of the desk/chair was perfect for the room!  Thanks for your kind words.

Kathy, Very, very nice work. I'm working on a list today for a particular property and after seeing your clock I added "clock" to the list. Very good idea!

Kathy, I think when staging a home with multiple bedrooms it is always an excellent idea to make one an office - almost everyone has one these days.

Very good example of how just a few simple changes can make a big difference, and it also helps to show flexibility in how the rooms can be used. This clearly shows the value of staging.

I have that clock!!!  With 6 bedrooms a home office was a very good idea. I usually put one in my 3 bedroom retirement community homes. One Master , one guest, one office - it all depends on your prospective buyers.

Yvonne - I love using clocks in bedrooms, offices, etc... they're a great item to have in your inventory.

Julianna - Thanks for your kind words.  Yes, the plant is silk.

Thanks, David.

Abby - I too love that lamp and loved how this room turnd out!

Stephanie - It was pouring rain when I finished the home.  When I took the homeowner through each of the rooms, he made the comment that he could curl up in the big oversize chair with a great book and nod off.

Thanks, Debbie.

John - thanks for your kind words.

Leigh - Me too.  I love looking at before and after pictures.

Thanks, Kathleen

Excellent furniture placement and you are right about doing the home office. That seems to be what is important to buyers today since everyone work from home

Kathy,
You did a wonderful job. I also changed a bedroom into an office in the last vacant home I staged. It was a 3 bedroom 1 bath and my thinking was right in line with yours.

Very nice!  I often advise sellers to show one bedroom as an office when they don't have one elsewhere.  Your picture is fabulous!

Me too, Jo.  FYI - I made the arrangement.  In fact the container it sits in have also been used in kitchens without a floral arrangement.

Thanks, Kim.
