Simple Staging - Sometimes Less IS More

When a home has an incredible feature, I say flaunt it.  Whether's it's the fireplace or the granite on the counter-tops, they're features of the home that could help influence a buyer's decision.

As a home stager, it's important I help accent those features when staging a home.  Here's an example of how less really is more...

By placing the accessories at the far end the eye is drawn down the entire length of the counter-top.  A great feature now gets the exposure it deserves.

Great photos! And I couldn't agree more with your less is more theory - especially in kitchens! Why cover up all that beautiful counter space with accessories?

Kathy - I couldn't agree more!  I always believe 'less is more'.  You did a great job using just what was necessary to add emphasis to the home.... creating great focus.

Great example!  I love the flower photo!  You can frame that and use it for an art piece.

Kathy, you lead the parade for beautiful and thoughtful staging! Just like potato chips I can't pick just one that I love. These shots are all fantastic!!!

Kathy, I agree.  I always do minimal staging in a kitchen.  Too  much detracts from the positive aspects of the room.  BTW, I spied your IKEA canisters on the counter :-)

Thanks, Abster.

Kristina - that's a great idea!  It would make a great photo for a bedroom or for an office.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Yvonne - Your response made me smile.  Thank you!

Terry - You eye-spied correctly!

Love the before and after pics. It's a shame you're not close by in New York. Staging is like having a web site, if you don't have it you're being penny wise and pound foolish. Every house should have a stager come in.
