Sure, there are great tools inside my toolbox that I couldn't live without. Items such as:
- Paint Markers (walnut and dark cherry)
- Laser beam (ensures pictures are hung straight)
- Zots (little bits of glue dots that are used for a variety of things)
The list goes on and on....
And now for the list of items I couldn't live without:
- GPS - No longer do I fear the homeowner saying take Exit 251 and go North. I use to cringe. I'm so directionally challenged that I would give myself a good 30 minutes of extra time to ensure I wasn't late for an appointment.
- Smart Phone: Ah, yup... it makes me feel smarter. Why? I'm kept in the know. I receive my emails there, can access the internet, can even jot down notes for reference at a later time. I'm in love.
- Picasa - This little on-line service hosts all of my pictures; allows for me to create a "web album" and allows for edits making that part of the process so much easier. Here's the link: Picasa (from Google)
- Picnik - Resizing photos is something I no longer dread. This site makes the process super easy. In addition, if you subscribe to their service (some things are free, others are not), you're able to create drop shadows on your pictures; place text on your photos and a bunch of awesome incredible features. Here's the link: Picnik

As I read your blog, I was mentally saying "check" to all of the items you listed...and then I got to the end and discovered something new...picnik! I have been looking for a program to easily resize and change/add to pictures, especially when creating newsletters. Thank you! After I finish staging today, I am going to play tonight with pictures.
I loved GPS, now I LOVE my turn by turn directions that are spoken to me while I drive through my Blackberry! I don't have to read the directions from the printout from Mapquest that half the time is wrong.
Another useful tool in my toolbox is Magic Erase Bars. Love them!
Rafia in different shades is also another inexpensive tool to use in any bathroom. Another inexpensive item that I have been using is synthetic starfish. I buy them from WalMart for$6 for a bag of ten. I use them in bathrooms on towels, and on books beside beds.
Have a great week!
Hey Kathy-
I agree with Picnik & Picasa, but admit to still using Mapquest & standard cell phone. Maybe a family member will gift me one of those & bring me up to speed.

I use to rely on Mapquest! The GPS is perhaps the most useful tool of them all. Well... that and the phone.

Great tips - especially the laser - I am directionally challenged as well... and unable to straighten pitures!!
I wish I had a GPS!! The next best thing for me is to Google the address and print it before I leave. I find Google to be more accurate.
Yeah Smart phone,,,hummmm....do want to say I couldn't go without the safety pin IN my toolbox...
and rubberbands . . . great info Kathy. You always share such great stuff!
