If your home is currently on the market, here's an easy fix that will surely help your prospective buyers. As a professional home stager in Atlanta, I see this as one of the greatest opportunities to truly make a difference in how the home is viewed. So what is it?
Scale Down and Define!
Yup, it's that easy. One of the objectives with home staging is to ensure that buyers are left with visuals that are not only appealing but one they can envision living in. By scaling down the items in the room and setting definition to the purpose of the room, the amount of space will be better showcased.
Here's an example:

AH!! LESS IS MORE. Sometimes it can mean addition by subtraction.....
As a brand new active rainer and realtor I am very new to the world of Staging.
I like the changes!! More light from the window... Less cluttersome books on the bookcases.... etc... Minus the table, and insert comfy chairs. YES.
Staging is all new to me, but I appreciate being able to get such good advice from experts like you...
ACTIVE RAIN ROCKS!!
Thanks, Barb.
Ann - The changes made really did make a big difference. Thanks for your kind words.
Chris - Welcome to the Rain! I'm glad this post helped define staging and the impact it can have.
Thanks, Misty. I too like the simplicity.
Annette - Feel free to share these and others in my blogs as examples.

Kathy~ You do better then most when it comes to the saying " A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words! "
Cheers!
Kathy! Those rooms look really really inviting-not cluttered at all!
I use to live near Marietta. How is the Big Chicken doing? In 1986 my husband Larry and I created a boardgame all about the big chicken. Yup, we named it The Big Chicken Game! We sold more than 1000 of them. Georgians LOVE their Big Chicken!
Thanks, Gina.
Evelyn - I live 10 miles from the Big Chicken! And you're right, everyone in Atlanta knows of this landmark. In fact, when you ask for directions for a location in or around this area, it's common to hear "go east of the Big Chicken." And what a great idea you had for the board game!
Maureen - You're right, the simplified look makes it less confusing for the buyer. Thanks for your comment.
Mary Lou - I think "classy" helps sell.
Thanks, Karen and David.
Kathy
Kathy,
It is amazing how staging this room changed the price point and age of the home. (In Pictures) Before, it looks like nothing fancy and it seems old. After, it looks grand and new!
Thanks, Kristi!
Michelle - I'm blushing. Thank you for your very nice comments.
