One of my objectives as a home stager in Atlanta is to set the home apart from the others on the market; to make an impression and to make it memorable. Whether the home is located North, South, East or West of Atlanta, the objective is the exact same.
The home I staged today sits in Virginia Highlands. As described in the link, the name is derived from the intersections of Virginia and Highland Avenues and is made up of 7 distinct commercial villages. The quaint little shops and incredible restaurants makes this a desireable location for many moving to Atlanta. It also happens to house one of my all-time favorite restaurants called Noches which features spanish and southwestern tapas. And no, unfortunately, they were not open for lunch.
Here's a picture of the living room before we staged:

And a quaint little area within the home for a bite to eat!

lovely, my friend -- I love the area and love your touch!
Staging works- You did a GGGRRREEAATT job!
All the best. Keep on blogging!
Bill
Lovely, Kathy. Would you call that pink plant pot the wow factor in the room? After last night's show, I've looked around every room today wondering... do I need a "thing" that has a wow factor in here? If I did, what could someone consider it to be? <chuckling>
It always amazes me how easily one's perspective can be changed...
You've created a pretty, stylish home. Well done.
On another note, do you tag your photos based on a keyword search? If you do, which tool do you use to identify those keywords in your particular market?
Kathy - Great Job! What camera do you use? What are your secrets to photography? Amazing transformation...no comparison to the vacant, this is what buyers expect to see.
Great job. You really made that house look great!
Hey Kathy - Lovely! I haven't written much on AR lately; been really busy with lots of stuff. I had to comment on yours though. Looks like you're still going strong. Great job!
Diane Concialdi
Thanks, Karen!
And Bill - I'll definitely keep on blogging (smile).
Thanks, Juliet. I've used several different tools to ascertain what key words to use in tagging my photos. I'm consistent with the description; which describes the picture being posted. I'll use Home Staging Atlanta After Picture (or before picture). As for the tag, I'll try and mix that up as best I can within the same blog.
Debbie - I use a Nikon D80. I also bought a wide-angle lens and a flash which attaches to the top of the camera. Those two things have helped tremendously. As for secrets to my photography; 1) take a lot of pictures. 2) take a lot of the same room using different angles 3) get on your knees or... stand on a chair 4) I use Picasa to help with edits. Hope that helps.
Thanks Teresa!
Diane - I'm honored that you made the time to comment. Thank you. And yes, going very strong!
Kathy
Kathy - You have turned a blank wall into such a livable space. I love that artwork over the sofa.
Kathy ~ As usual, beautiful work in this transformation! Question about your camera: do you use a tripod for all of your photos? And, do you use the Picasa free program, or the more advanced one that has a charge?
correct staging is vital if you want to sell that home!!!!!!!!!!!
Tanya - It's funny that you mentioned the artwork above the couch. I had forgotten a curtain rod and had to run out to make the purchase. I had eye-spied the artwork and thought it would work well. Thanks for your nice words.
Maureen - I have a tripod but have never used it. What I've learned to do instead is to hold my breath when I snap the picture. It seems to work well. As for Picasa; I do have the advanced program as it was only $25.00 for the year. All that said, I did not use the advanced program to do the edits. In summary, anyone can do what I did using their standard program.
Thanks, Barbara-Jo.
Kathy
Great use of the small sofa table, with barstools. I've got a house that needs this same type solution...Thanks!
Like your style missy. Isn't is wonderful how warm and inviting the hard wood floors give to a home?
That's a cool shot of the bathroom...you caught the top of the shower curtain and the adjacent room in the mirror =) Ah, so much to catch up on here in the Rain...been MIA for too long!
Lovely photos - beautiful staging! The blend of colors in the posters and floral arragement in the breakfast nook really give that small area so much vibrance. Love the unique bathroom shot- it really catches your eye and highlights the marble and beautiful chrome work on the sink.
