I awoke last week to an email message from the Atlanta Journal Constitution asking when would be a good time for them to contact me regarding the Camp Creek Village town homes I had staged. While the article itself will focus on the interior look behind the Mediterranean style I had used she also wants to feature an article on the effectiveness of home staging. I'm anxious to have that interview and await the Camp Creek Village article which will appear in the Real Estate Section this coming Saturday, August 16th.
In the mean time, I thought it would be beneficial to all reading (whether you're a home owner, investor, builder, Realtor or agent) as to the top 5 reasons why Home Staging is so effective:
- Home Staging Sets the Home Apart From The Others On The Market. Why? A professional home stager understands how to show-case the space, as well as the features the home has to offer.
- Home Staging Adds Warmth to the Home. Once a prospective buyer determines their location and price of their next home, they'll be visiting homes that fall within that criteria. Once inside a home, it's important to ensure they're emotionally connected to the home. Home staging, with lamps, furniture, rugs, accessories, etc... creates a warm and inviting home.
- Home Staging Attracts Buyers Off The Internet. With over 80% of the buyers beginning their search using the internet, it's important to ensure yours stands out. A well staged home will be visually appealing to buyers and help increase the odds of the buyers coming to see the home first-hand.
- Home Staging Provides Solutions to the Prospective Buyers. A challenging room, whether large or one that has an awkward layout can pose challenges to prospective buyers. A professional staged home will have a layout that accommodates those difficult spaces.
- A Professional Staged Home Will Appeal to a Broad Range of Prospective Buyers. A professional home stager understands the importance of ensuring the decor, style, etc... match the demographics of the buyer. At the same time, a true professional understands the importance of having the home appeal to a broad range of prospective buyers.

You are absolutely right! Staging turns Vanilla into chocolate sundae.
Kathy ~ Good luck with the interview ~ you are well prepared to handle it! These are great reasons why staging is essential in today's challenging market, and very well stated. Be sure to post a link to the article once it comes out so that we can celebrate with you.
Kathy, Great points for staging !! Congratulations on the articles, I can't wait for you to share them with us.. God bless,
Good points. I agree with you that it helps to attract buyers via the Internet and we all know that a large percentage of home buyers begin their search on the Internet. The more appealing the home looks, the better the chance to sell it and to sell it quickly.
Good luck in your business. It is needed by many, many sellers.

Your 5 points are excellent and so is your staging!!! Congratulations Kathy!!!!!
I have truly enjoyed browsing your blogs! You are what I hope to be when I grow up! Keep up the good work and exposure for Home Staging in general.
We just completed an Owner Occupied home yesturday where we gave them the option of using all their own furniture and doing a Re-Design, or taking everything out and doing a complete Staging from scratch. They opted for the full Staging - however they were hesitant on how our Staged furniture and accessories would be "better and more inviting" than what they already had... All the neighbors came through when were done with oohs & aahhs saying "Now I could live here!"
Thanks, Cathy!
Denise - Thanks for your kind words!
Connie - I'd love to see those before and after pictures. Do you have them that you could post?
Kathy
Kathy - Good for you - please post the article. You deserve it....you are a great stager!
How wonderful that your work is being noticed. Excellent tips for the clients.
Thanks, Debbie. I'll post a link on Saturday to the article.
Lisa - it feels great to have my work recognized. It was such a compliment to have these homes highlighted. I remember when I first paid the visit to the homes while they were under construction and I was there to prepare a proposal. Little did I know then that I would a) be awarded the staging and b) have them highlighted in the AJC. Feels awesome!!
Kathy
