NOTE: I've renamed this post as the title was too similar to my post the previous day.
The thrill of being a home stager is realized when you've taken a room and transformed it into a warm and welcoming part of the home.
As a home stager in Atlanta, I've been fortunate to be given opportunities to help homeowners, Realtors, builders, investors, etc... Today was no different. We were awarded the home staging contract last week and staged the home in one day (today)!
As usual, I was anxious to get the pictures loaded so that I could send them off to the agent for her use. After loading them, and with my husband sitting idle (for a change), I decided to show him the set of photos. When we got to these two pictures, he had me go back and forth a couple of times to ensure it was the same room. I assured him it was.
Here's the room before it was home staged:
Now here's the "after" picture (see below):

Love the after Kathy (but I do like that blue dog picture too!)
Kathy -- this is an INCREDIBLE transformation -- I love how the color palette you used complements the fireplace! I love the art too!! (Wow that blue dog is something else!!)
I know you never feature your own work Kathy -- but this one really should be featured in the Before & After group -- please!
Simply gorgeous! I see why you were so anxious to get the photos to the Realtor ~ Like your hubby, had to do a double take too:-) Congrats!
That's the perfect example of staging!! Love the artwork over the fireplace--I have one very similar to that.
An I have similar artwork to that over the sofa! Great job, love the chair and the colors!
Thanks, Karen - The blue dog picture belonged to the homeowner who had moved out-of-state so... with that out of the picture (smile), I created a whole new look.
Maureen - When I uploaded the pictures, I was pleased with just how big a transformation it made to the look and overall feel of the room. As for the print over the fireplace - given that the fireplace is a feature of the room, I wanted to ensure I drew the buyers eyes to it. Thanks for your kind words.
Tosha - Thank you! I was definitely anxious and a little curious as to how the pics would look.
Marianne - I think I made that purchase at Kirkland's but not 100% sure. It's come in handy for several other homes and I love it.
Kathi - I purchased those two prints yesterday as I scooted out to purchase a few more hand towels for the bathroom. I loved the colors and loved how the background matched the linen love seat, so it was one of those must-have purchases.
Kathy
Kathy, there is no doubt that the after room will appeal to most buyers over the before, great job!
Kathy: Your husband was right. That was an amazing transformation. Glad to see the Blue Dog go.
Absolutely the perfect pictures to show staging is about making an emotional connection to a space. Great work, and great pictures.
Thanks, Mary!
Michelle - The homeowners return this coming weekend to finalize their out-of-state move. I'm anxious to get their feedback!
Leah- Thanks for your kind words!
Kathy
Kathy,
Great transformation! I am sure the homeowners were very pleased with your work. Continued success!
Kathy, WOW!! That is a powerful transformation. I agree with Maureen, it should be featured!!!
Okay, I'm featuring this in my own group; Staging Before & After pictures. This is something I've never done before as I want to show-case the work of others. However, I've been asked nicely (smile). In all seriousness, I too think it's incredible transformation and was pleased with how the room came out.
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
Kathy
Kathy ~ You very well should feature this, and I know you've others that should have been too! This transformation is great. You really didn't notice the fireplace in the before; now you can see it and it looks great. I love the furniture and the lamp pictured. The wall color works great with the tile.
Kathy: Of course you should feature your work, when appropriate. Your contribution is just as valid as anyone else's. And you do take the most amazing before and after photos:o))
Beautiful. You always do beautiful work. I'm a fan!!!
I love it. The wall color with the fireplace is so good and while I really liked the blue dog, he wasn't such a good fit for the room. From game room to tranquil livingroom--wow! Since I am a new stager, I really like seeing what other people do. Thanks.
Wonderful transformation! Glad to see you took everyone's advice and featured your own before & afters. We all enjoy and appreciate seeing your beautiful work - thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Kathy P - I went ahead and featured it. I agree, the fireplace, which is a feature of the home, is now made to stand out. Thanks for your kind words.
Michelle - Thank you!
Chrissie - So we're even. I'm a fan of yours.
Vicki - The dog picture worked when it was more of a game room. However, because he's so cute (smile), he took the focus away from one of the features.
Lisa - Thank you.
Kathy
Kathy - It looks great! I love the artwork in the living room.
You really added sophistication and value to this room, Kathy. The fireplace is beautiful now.
Wonderful job as usual...I h ave to agree with your hubby..does not even look like the same room...
Kathy, What a great job! The difference in the before and after photo is amazing....very nicely done.
WOW! I would never have had that vision. Geat job!
WOW~!
Thanks, Tanya. The artwork over the loveseat was purchased that day. I ran out to get a different rug for the living room and eye-spied them.
Kathy R - I can't wait for the homeowners to see it. They've been out of state and return on Friday.
Thanks, Gary.
Rachel - Thank you! When I sat down to do the design plan, I just kept staring at that before picture and then before I knew it, it all came together.
Kathy
I love your work Kathy! That coffee table is fabulous. I can see how a client would walk into that room and not want to leave after you were done with it!
This looks really great, Kathy. Love the furnishings you selected. More inviting to sit down and relax by the fireplace rather than play foosball by the fireplace!
Kathy it is absolutely beautiful. The room looked much smaller in the before. I too love the artwork and coffee table. Fabulous job as always
Phyllis pafumi
Kathy, I so love your style and color choices. If the day ever comes when our market here picks up and we decide to sell, will you come down and stage my house?
Wow, I really didn't like the wall colour and fireplace tile but your selections really complemented them. Nice job and definitely deserving of a feature!
That turned out fantastic! The fireplace is a great feature and it it showcased like it should be.
This is an example of beautiful staging. The colors that you chose really accent the fireplace.
