If your home is currently on the market, then you likely understand the importance of having a home that is show-ready. Fortunately, there are simple and quick solutions that YOU, as a homeowner, can do each morning that will ensure you leave the buyers with a great first-impression of your home.
Let's begin with a list of the items you'll need:
- Plastic bins (I recommend 3 or 4)
- Pre-moistened wipes (polish and glass cleaner)
- Laundry basket
Bedrooms:
- Make beds
- Place clothes in laundry basket
Bathrooms:
- Place items such as shampoo, conditioners, etc.. in plastic bins under your bathroom sink.
- Using pre-moistened wipes do a quick wipe down in the sink(s) and faucet (these too can be placed under the sink)
- Hang towels
- Ensure toilet seat lids are down.

Great idea! How about checking out the litter boxes and taking any smelly trash out too... Leslie
Leslie - these are two great additions to add to the list!
Thanks!
Kathy
Excellent post Kathy, good planning, easy as possible, but,..............will they do it? LOL!
Great tips Kathy. If they are out of premoistened wipes even some moistened (unused!) toilet paper will do:o))
Kathy, This is a great tool to hand out to clients. I am amazed when we do a consultation at a home that is on the market and it is left unprepared when everyone heads off to work. This 15 minute touch up is a great solution.
Great ideas Kathy! You should print out this list and give it to all your sellers. You probably already do, but if not it's a great value added item to leave behind after you've worked your magic!
Robyn - I hope homeowners follow these recommendations as a mere 15 minutes can truly help make a difference.
Michelle - You're too cute.
Jo - Thanks!
Annie - It makes an excellent "leave-behind."

A very good list. I have moved over 20 times in my married life, 40 in my whole life. During all of my years with children at home, when we were selling, we had a 15 minute rule. We were show ready in 15 minutes! We never had to do this for very long, because the houses sold!
Helpful seller tips Kathy! Making the selling process easier is certainly appreciated by the homeowners. Keeping a tidy home at all times when selling is a chore, but worth the extra effort.
Hi Kathy, Happy Holidays. This is a great list for anyone, selling or not. But please, for heaven's sake, do this even before the appraiser comes to take interior photos.
Kathy great tips for the propsective vendor. I agree with Ken, please make sure this is done before the interior photos are taken!
WE give clients a list of tips and help them stay organized so it is not soooooooooooooooo agonizing to sell.
Great ideas, Kathy! I cannot think of a thing to add!
