If you've ever worked with a home stager, then you know first hand just how creative these individuals are. And while we work our magic in homes, we're constantly on the look-out for creative ways in which to market our service.
Fortunately, I found one by having read through some Active Rain posts. One of my favorite bloggers on Active Rain is Teresa Berry. Teresa is a real estate agent in Seattle serving the Northwest. If you're looking to buy or sell your home, I highly recommend her.
So why is Teresa one of my favorites? It's because she shares such great information. Every time I turn around, I'm learning something new from her posts. The first was the ribbon banner in the upper right hand corner. See it? It reads "Portfolio." If you click that button, it will take you directly to my portfolio page on my web site.
Last week, Teresa shared a valuable site called Wordle. Direct from the Wordle website, here's a description:
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
I've made about a dozen or so thus far and with each new one comes a new marketing idea (and new colors and layouts). And before I forget, it's FREE!
Here's one I made just moments ago.

Thanks, Teresa, for sharing!

Hi Kathy, a very interesting site. No sure how I would use it but I will investigate further at another time. BTW I can't see your graphic and I would like to. Thanks.
Hi, Ginger. Thanks for letting me know that the graphic didn't show up and for the email.
As for uses, I'm considering using it on my web site and on postcards.
Kathy
Kathy ~ What a great idea! That looks like it could be a lot of fun and something I could spend a lot of time playing with. I have bookmarked this post so that I can come back to it later. Gotta love free! Thanks for sharing!
Kathy - Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I don't have time to read every single post and I love it when others lead us to something of value. I really like your portfolio banner...was it hard to do? I'll have to her post.
Kathy ~ This site looks very cool and I love your example! You always have the best ideas and such a generous spirit in sharing them ... THANK YOU!
Free and fun-you are such a great source!! Thank you once again Kathy!!
Oh thank you! I've been looking for different ways to arrange words and love to find ways to differentiate my pages. Thank you so much!
Kathy: Thanks for turning us on to Teresa Berry and Wordle. I will have to subscribe to her posts. I love the graphic you created (couldn't see the second one). It is eye catching and unique. I say go for it.
Kathy your example is so much better than the examples on the website. I love it!
Kathy P - Have fun playing around with it. The first night I had read Teresa's post I spent about an hour. It was fun and got my creative juices flowing.
Debbie - You're very welcome!
Maureen - When I find something that I think is cool, I love sharing it with others (smile).
Cathy - I love FREE. And for that matter, I love FUN.
Marti - Yes, I love the great finds. By the way, I saw the one she created for you and it was just so inspirational!
Pangaea - It sounds like this post was perfectly timed for you.
Michelle - I'll be creating others and narrow down my selection. I can hardly wait to try more.
Ginger - Thank you. I hardly spent any time looking at their examples and instead focused on the ones Teresa created. Hers were incredible.
Kathy
OK I've just made several of these thingies for my kids, the school etc. what a cool tool! thanks for sharing what was shared Kathy!
I'm a sharer who loves to share what's been shared (smile).
In all seriousness, I did read on the Wordle site that the word clouds are an effective tool used by lots of teachers (especially those teaching vocabulary words).
Glad you liked it.
Kathy
Kathy - wow! ...your kind words have me teary eyed (the good kind) I really can't express just how much this post touches my heart but in a big HUGE WAY doesn't cover it :) you my friend are blessed with being a share"er" yourself. Success to you in every way as we start this year. it appears you've quickly got a handle on the mac from the looks of your creations :) thank you Kathy - Teresa
Kathy,
How FUN! Thanks for sharing, I can hardly wait to get over to check out Wordle, so my comment will be a short one! ;)

Well that was quite the experience, Thanks Kathy and Teresa for the great link!
Teresa - You're very welcome. Thank YOU for sharing!
Michelle P - it's awesome. It looks hip and I like the color choices you selected.
Terrylynn - Atlanta looks forward to the Stager Expo!

I've also heard that "Lefties" were creative people, unfortunately I'm a "Right".
I just found Teresa yesterday. She helped me create my first slide. She is a incredibly valuable resource here on AR. Check out her site and subscribe today if you want to stay on the leading edge in marketing.
Cindy - I've heard the same thing about "lefties." Like you, I'm right handed!
Michelle - I'm so glad you found Teresa. I'm not the least bit surprised to hear that she helped you. She is very gracious with her time.
Kathy
Hi Kathy N.- That is pretty cool! I too love that so many AR people share the tech goodies that I would so be in the dark about if it were not for them. Thankfully, you have the pulse as well and have passed on another nifty site to add to the ever-growing list of 'tweaks to do' goals. : ) Regards-Kathleen G
I read Terries Blog from time to time as well. Nice job in giving her some support Kathy!
Hi Kathy, you are spot on. I haven't met a stager who wasn't creative. Thanks for the Wordle toy, off to check it out! I like how your last name stands out in the one you created.
Love the Wordle! I will check it out. Thnx for sharing Kathy!
I can't find the ribbon "portfolio" banner.
Someone else recommended Wordle but without a description of what it was. I went there and couldn't figure out what it was and gave up. Now that I see your example and hear your testimonial I will be going back for sure. I have also subscribed to Teresa's blog. Thanks so much!
Hi, Sharon. The ribbon is now missing in action. I asked Brad why (as he had one too and his is now gone) and he believes that it was causing issues with the headers. I miss having it, that's for sure.
Glad that my Wordle example helped.
Kathy
